All of Rainforest Theatre's productions have been new plays and are by donation or free so that they are accessible for everyone in the community. Rainforest has produced five festivals (Theatrefest), twenty shows, and three Theatre on the Lake outdoor productions. Theatrefest was created to give companies and performers the opportunity to stage their shows affordably (all participating companies receive a venue by donation while retaining 100% of their box office) while providing Vancouver audiences with more live theatre, comedy, and entertainment.
James MacDonald, Producing Director- James is a playwright, actor, director, and producer. He has acted in over forty productions, written over twenty plays, and directed and produced many others along with Theatre on the Lake and Theatrefest. He is the founder of Rainforest Theatre and Theatrefest.
